Discover The Clipso 5‑Point Safety System
Equipped with five safety mechanisms that work together to prevent excess pressure
— for complete peace of mind.
Secure closing
If the lid isn't completely closed, the cooker simply won't build up pressure.
Safe opening
While the cooker is in use and under pressure, the lid cannot be opened.
Operating valve
Regulates the operating pressure level throughout cooking.
Safety valve
If the operating valve doesn't work, the safety valve automatically takes over and releases steam through an additional spring system.
Gasket release
In the rare event both valves fail, the gasket lets steam escape between the lid and the pot as a final backup.
Designed for Everyday Reliability
Every Clipso is designed with built-in safety features and held to rigorous quality standards, delivering reliable performance you can count on for years to come.
Built-in safety devices
- Secure closing.
- Safe opening.
- Overpressure protection.
Pressure indicator
Clearly shows when the cooker is under pressure and when it has been safely released. This gives you added confidence and peace of mind, so you always know exactly when it's safe to open the lid.
Continuous quality guaranteed
- 135 controls, from raw-material reception through to dispatch.
- 100% of pots and lids are checked at the end of the manufacturing process.
Tip: have your pressure cooker checked at a T-fal Approved Service Center after 10 years of use.
Prepare your ingredients
Chop vegetables, meat, or grains. Sear to enhance flavor, then add liquid. Fill no more than ⅔ full, or ½ full for foods that expand.
Secure the lid
Place the lid on the cooker and lock it safely in place with a simple push. Cooking will only begin once the lid is fully locked.
Build up the pressure
Place the cooker on high heat, set the operating valve to cooking mode, and wait until the pressure indicator rises.
Cook and release the steam
Reduce heat to maintain pressure and cook for the recommended time. When finished, carefully turn the pressure valve to release steam.
Serve and enjoy
Open the lid carefully, stir if needed, and enjoy your meal! With Clipso, delicious meals come together quickly and easily.

Everything You Need to Know
Check that the closing button is pressed down properly, that the seal is correctly positioned (see 'Cleaning and maintenance'), and that the jaws are fully closed on the edge of the pan.
Have your pressure cooker checked by a T-fal Approved Service Center before using it again.
This is normal for the first few minutes. If it persists, check that the heat source is high enough, there is enough liquid in the pan, the operating valve is set correctly (fig. 1), the cooker is properly closed, the seal and pan edge aren't damaged, and the seal is correctly seated in the lid (fig. 3–4).
This is normal for the first few minutes. If it persists, dip the cooker — up to the body handles — into a sink of cold water until the indicator drops (fig. 2). Then clean the operating valve (fig. 5) and the steam-release outlet (fig. 6), and use a cotton bud to check that the safety-valve pin moves freely (fig. 7).
Check that the lid is closed correctly, the seal is properly positioned and in good condition (replace if needed), the lid, seal and its groove are clean, and the edge of the pan is in good condition.
Check that the seal is not pinched between the pan and the lid.
Check that the pressure indicator is in the lowered position. If not, decompress — and if necessary dip the cooker up to the body handles into a sink of cold water. Never interfere with the pressure indicator.
Check the cooking time, the power of the heat source, the position of the operating valve, and the quantity of liquid.
Leave the pan to soak before cleaning. Never use bleach or products containing chlorine.
Turn off the heat and let the cooker cool without moving it. Wait for the pressure indicator to drop, then open. Check and clean the operating valve, the steam-discharge outlet, the safety valve and the seal. If the problem persists, have it checked by a T-fal Approved Service Center.
