Ingredients
- 1 cup (6 ounces/177g) mini chocolate chips
- ½ cup (113g) unsalted butter
- 4 eggs
- 2 egg whites
- ⅔ cup (131g) granulated sugar
- ½ cup (60g) all-purpose flour
- ¼ teaspoon sea salt
- Powdered sugar for garnish
Directions
- Butter or spray four 6-ounce ramekins and set aside.
- Melt the butter in a large bowl, then stir in the chocolate until melted. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs, egg whites and sugar until light and fluffy (this can be done by hand or with the mixer).
- Whisk the egg mixture into the chocolate until fully combined. Stir in the flour and salt with a spatula, being careful not to overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared ramekins and place in the airfryer. Air fry the molten lava cakes at 370°F for 8 minutes or until the tops have popped up and the edges of the cakes are crisp.
- Carefully remove the ramekins from the air fryer. Using a small metal spatula or knife, release the cakes from the sides of the ramekins. Flip the cakes onto plates and dust on some powdered sugar. Enjoy!
